The whole country was covered by election campaigns to regional and municipal governments on September 14, 2014. In the single day of voting 30 federal subjects elected their chiefs, 14 subjects – legislators, and many municipalities – local authorities.

In many cities of Russia were elected new mayors. In particular, in Anadyr, Chukotka, the leader in the elections was Ilya Davidenko, member of United Russia party. He scored the majority of votes (83,08 %) and was succeeded by Andrew Shegolkov. In his election campaign Ilya Davidenko proposed a new program of development of the city and won the trust of citizens, securing a virtually unanimous victory.

Naberezhnye Chelny city of Republic of Tatarstan headed Nail Magdeyev. Former Minister of Forestry of RT replaced Vasil Shayhraziev, which, in turn, moved to Kazan as Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan. The head of Bugulma municipality and the mayor of the city Ildus Kasymov was replaced by the head of the executive committee of the municipality Linar Zakirov.

The new mayor of Komsomolsk-on-Amur was Andrei Klimov, whose candidature has put forward the United Russia party. For the new mayor voted almost 60 % of electors. Andrei Klimov superseded the mayor Vladimir Mikhalev, who led the Komsomolsk since 1991.

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the election of the mayor won Sergey Nadsadin. For his candidature voted 79,4 % of city residents. He took office as Mayor of the island capital after Andrew Lobkin. A high percentage of voter confidence showed that Nadsadin chosed the right course for the development of the city.

In the mayoral election in Blagoveshchensk defeated candidate of the United Russia party Alexander Kozlov. He scored 38,68 % of the vote, as reported by the electoral commission of the Amur region on the basis of the processing of all protocols.

City Duma deputy, representative of the United Russia faction Sergei Rudenko became the mayor of Kurgan, the capital of Zauralye. According to the results of the secret ballot at a special meeting of the City Duma for Rudenko voted 24 out of 25 deputies. Newfound mayor said that in his post he intends to pay special attention to issues of demography and social guarantees for the needy citizens.

Alexei Shaposhnikov became chairman of the Moscow City Duma of the sixth convocation. He was the only candidate for the post. 43 deputies of the city parliament of 44 present at the meeting voted in favor of Shaposhnikov. Vladimir Platonov, who served as Speaker of the Moscow City Duma for 20 years, declined to a new nomination.

In the elections of the resort city of Sochi on the results of the processing of all ballots majority of votes scored Anatoly Pakhomov, the current mayor, representative of the United Russia party. He scored 75,37 % of the vote, which is more than 92,7 thousand persons. Election victory has once again confirmed the confidence of residents to the current government.

The current mayor of Chita Anatoly Mikhalev re-elected for a new term scored in the election 65,75 % of the vote. The mayor heads the city administration since 2005. For 14 years a lot of work has been done to address the serious problems in the city that will continue in the new term.

30 million voters registered in a single day of voting in elections at all levels. Chairman of Central Election Commission Vladimir Churov thanked the Russians for their active participation.
