Work on the Project of Creating the "Green Belt" Continues in Turkistan

In order to improve the microclimate of the city of Turkistan, the project "Green Belt" was created in 2019 on the initiative of the Akim of the region. Intensive work on the project is being carried out.

The climate in the Turkistan region is difficult. In summer, there is a scorching heat, and at the same time there are frequent winds. There are problems with irrigation water. In July and August, the water shortage begins. The "Green Belt" project was exactly created with the aim of protecting the city from wind erosion, forming a favorable climate for the population of Turkistan and the agglomeration.

The project has already produced its first positive results. Thanks to the increase of green areas in and around the city, dust storms have decreased noticeably, and the texture of the air has become softer.
