INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE DIGITAL PLATFORM WILL BE CREATED IN YAKUTIA

The Unified Regional Intangible Heritage Register became the basis for creation of a digital platform. The project will be presented in December this year within the range of events and activities dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the Foundation of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
The Head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev noted earlier: “Our rich intangible cultural heritage is a historical legacy, a special code of the peoples of Yakutia, a way that leads to human potential exploration. On the territory of the republic all the conditions necessary are being created and the advanced technologies are being implemented for preservation of the heritage and it's fostering”.
The digital copies of the archival documents of a particular value, the digital copies of books, audio and video recordings, museum collections will be available at the platform. Scientific description will be provided as well.
The Centre for Digitalization of the Linguistic and Cultural Heritage of the Peoples has been created at the National Library of Yakutia. Here, in the laboratory of this center, the objects of the intangible cultural heritage of peoples are being digitized in compliance with the regional Register. The formation of folk arts and crafts standard specimen digital fund had also begun.
As the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Moral Development, Vladislav Levochkin, noted, the Unified Register will become the basis for the adoption of a regional bill that focuses attention on the intangible heritage. This will provide a machinery for intellectual property and copyright protection.
