Tomsk Leadership Involves Business to Improvement of the City

The signing of the trilateral agreement among the Administration of the Tomsk Region, Administration of the City of Tomsk and the company “Russian Railways” took place on July 9, 2019. Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor of the Tomsk Region, Ivan Klian, Mayor of Tomsk, and Alexander Gritsay, Head of the West Siberian Railway (branch of the “Russian Railways”) signed the document.

The parties are planning to cooperate in such areas as the development of railway transport infrastructure in the Tomsk region and the city of Tomsk, ensure transport safety and transport accessibility of the citizens, synchronize repair and construction work of the railway transport infrastructure, jointly implement ecological and environmental measures.

Within the frameworks of ensuring safety and preventing injuries at railway facilities, the agreement provides the construction of pedestrian crossings with lights and sound alarms at the expense of the investment program of the “Russian Railways”.

The agreement also includes the participation of the “Russian Railways” in the implementation of overpass interchanges at different levels at the intersection of railways and public roads, in terms of transporting railway communications from the construction zone, coordinating train schedules and allocating the necessary equipment.

Furthermore, the municipality will continue to support certain categories of citizens in the provision of the right to free travel on the suburban railway trains.
