Delegation from Wakkanai visited Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Mayor of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Andrey Lobkin met with the members of the official delegation from the Japanese city of Wakkanai, headed by the Head of the city Hiroshi Kudo.

Andrey Lobkin brought into focus the fact that the history of relations between the cities of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Wakkanai has extended back over 11 years - the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation was signed on September 9, 2001. The communication between the cities has become stronger over the years and has covered almost all areas of cooperation.

Mr. Hiroshi mentioned positive changes in the appearance of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk: modern shopping centers, hotels, new neighborhoods, beautiful parks were built.

The sides agreed to consider further options for closer cooperation between the regional center of Sakhalin region and the city of Wakkanai.
