On July 8 and 12, 2021, Secretary General of UCLG-Eurasia Rasikh Sagitov paid a visit to the cities of Tyumen and Barnaul. During the meetings, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation and further interaction at the international level.

In Tyumen, the meeting with Mayor of the city Ruslan Kukharuk took place. The parties discussed joint collaboration.

Modern Tyumen is a major industrial city, which is the oil and gas capital of Russia. The city is one of the leaders in Russia in terms of citizens’ material well-being. Besides, the city boasts the high quality of roads.

In Barnaul, Rasikh Sagitov met with Mayor of Barnaul Vyacheslav Frank to discuss the city’s participation in UCLG-Eurasia’s activities.

Barnaul is one of the largest Siberian cities and the capital of Altai Region. The city is one of the most comfortable in Russia according to the All-Russian contest. One of the largest medical clusters in the country has been created and is successfully operating in Barnaul, which has united the leading clinics. New modern centers are being built here, breakthrough medical technologies are being introduced. Thanks to this, high-tech medical care, including organ ransplantation, has become available to almost every citizen of both Altai Region and Siberia.

The Secretary General presented a book of international cooperation, where the material on the development of relations of cities of Russia and Eurasia, information on structural divisions of municipalities in charge of foreign relations, their leaders, data on the city's membership in international organizations, major international events that took place in the city, international awards; and some interesting facts about the city were published.

Rasikh Sagitov assured of the need to increase international cooperation through participation in the work of the UCLG World Organization and in the international municipal movement. During these meetings, both cities took an interest in cooperation with UCLG and engagement in high-level events.
