UCLG-Eurasia has joint the work on the voluntary national review of the achievement of the SDGs in Russia. Analytical Center for the Government of Russian Federation will lead the work. The report will be presented during the UN High Level Political Forum in July 2020.
The review will comprise reports on 17 sustainable development goals. A special work group has been established to draft a report on every sustainable development goal; each such group includes representatives of government authorities, public associations, research and expert organizations. UCLG-Eurasia has become a member of the working group on the SDG 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The Analytical Center will be coordinating the process as well as hosting discussions of the materials to be included in the reports.
“We expect the heads of the work groups to submit the initial data by July 15 of this year. By December we should have a draft review ready and then we'll have it publicly discussed. The finalised materials with more details about the implementation of our national projects, among other things, will keep being submitted to us until March 15, 2020 and in July next year we will submit the final report to the UN”, - said Ksenia Bannikova, Head of Department for Foreign Business Activities of the Analytical Center.
