The Union of Local Governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Association of Local Governments of Latvia with the participation of representatives of local authorities held a video conference to exchange experience of work and initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the online conference, issues of cooperation between local governments in emergency situations, the role of regions, issues of supporting entrepreneurs, national policies and local initiatives were discussed.
Director of the Union of Local Governments of the Kyrgyz Republic Omurbek Almanbetov spoke about the work carried out by local governments during a state of emergency in Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Latvia Gints Kaminskis shared information on the work carried out by the Association. In particular, he described the work in the National Anti-Crisis Council and in the working groups of the ministries of Latvia.
The online event was attended by the mayor of Orlovka, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Local Governments of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktybek Chancharov, Vice-Mayor of Jalal-Abad Ruslan Altymyshev, Mayor of Naryn Nurbek Moldokadyrov, Acting Mayor of Balykchy Aziz Asanaliev and others.
