On the 4 October in Kazan during the ceremony of proclamationof the World Habitat, for achievements in the sphere of development ofcities, environment and housing, representatives of Russian cities andcommonwealths of independent states were awarded by the joint diplomas of UN-Habitat and World organization ?United Cities and Local Governments?. Among them there are members of Euro-Asia section of UCLG.

Awards to the representatives of the cities were presented by the UN Deputy Secretary General, UN-HABITAT Executive Director Ms. Anna Tibaijuka and Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far East Federal district, President of Euro-Asia section of the World organization of United Cities and Local Governments, Vice-President of the World organization UCLG Mr. Kamil Iskhakov.

• Mayor of the city of Stavropol Dmitriy Kuzmin was awarded for creation of healthy and comfortable urban environment.
• Award for reconstruction of habitation in the postconflict Chechen Republic was sent to the city of Groznyy, to the Chairman of the Government of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
• Mayor of Yekaterinburg Arkadiy Chernetsky was awarded for important contribution to the development of local self-government system; award was presented to the Chairman of Yekaterinburg city Duma Yevgeniy Porunov.
• The city of Orenburg was awarded for innovations in housing and communal sphere; award was presented to the Deputy to the Head of the city Viktor Schipachov.
• Rostov-on-Don was awarded for development of water facilities of the city; diploma is presented to the Deputy to the Head of city administration Anatoly Labusov.
• Capital Khural of Ulaanbaatar was awarded for activity on providing the gender equality in the city; diploma was presented to the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar of the Mongolian Republic Tsogt Batboyar.
• Mayor of Krasnoyarsk city Piotr Pimashkov was awarded by diploma for achievements of good quality of city environment.
• Head of municipality of the city of Budennovsk Nikolay Liashenko won the award for important contribution to the development of education in the city of Budennovsk.
• Mayor of Khabarovsk Alexander Sokolov was awarded for providing sustainable development of the city.
• Association of the cities of Kyrgyz Republic was awarded for active protection of interests of cities at the central and local levels; award was presented to the Executive director of Association Bolotbek Asanakunov.
• The city of Nerungri was awarded for realization of the project ?Reconstruction of the city heat supply system?; diploma was presented to the Head of municipality ?Nerungrinsky region? Vasiliy Starcev.  
• The city of Glazov was awarded for development of the city engineering infrastructure; diploma was presented to the Head of administration of the city Alexander Orlov.
• Chairman of the city of Dushanbe Makhmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was awarded for increase of the living level in the city, for participation in the ceremony Deputy to the Head of the city Masaid Khamidov was invited.
• The city of Kirov was awarded for creation of alternative water supplying system; diploma was presented to the Head of the city Gennadiy Plekhov.
