The Citizens’ Forum 2024 in Yakutia

On March 13-14, 2024, Yakutsk hosted the Citizens’ Forum. This is the largest annual meeting of representatives of the Republic’s civil society, at which the most pressing issues of the society are discussed and joint solutions are sought. This Forum was held for the twelfth time and was dedicated to the Year of the Family in Russia and the Year of the Childhood in Yakutia.

The Citizens’ Forum 2024 offered five platforms for debate where participants could discuss the following topics: “Spiritual and moral education. Traditional values in the modern world”, “Creative industries: a vector of economic development”, “Facets of patriotism”, “From a Decade of Childhood in Russia to the Year of Childhood in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)” and “Family policy as the basis for the development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”.

Also, as part of the Forum, the family festival “The Future Begins Today” was held. At the final plenary meeting that took place on March 14 a resolution was adopted by the participants of the Citizens’ Forum.

Discussion platform No.2 became the main one and was dedicated to the topic “Creative industries: a vector of economic development.” The participants discussed the implementation of creative projects in the Republic, the role of the business community in the development of the creative industry, government support for startups, and the development of the Yakut cinema as one of the mediators of the development of the creative industry.

More than 500 civil activists from all districts of Yakutia took part in all Forum events. There are more than 1,000 socially oriented NPOs and Territorial social self-governments in the Republic.
