Inclusion Support Offices in Astana

Zhenis Kasymbek, Akim of Astana, announced the opening of new inclusion support offices at schools and mini-centres.

“We continue to increase the number of inclusion support offices at kindergartens and schools. For example, together with the Bolashak Foundation, we have opened and equipped inclusion support offices in eight kindergartens. Such offices will be opened at three more mini centres soon.

Children spend most of the time in regular groups with peers, and they spend several hours a day in the inclusion support office engaged with assistant teachers. The office socializes children with special educational needs and develops speech, communication and household skills. […]

As teachers and parents note, children have markedly improved their socialization and learning skills during their visits to inclusion support offices.

We are also increasing the number of inclusion support offices at schools. They are currently available at 29 schools. This year, we are planning to open four more schools," the Akim said.
