Kazakhstan and the European Union Signed an Agreement

Казахстан и ЕС заключили соглашение

As part of the COP27 Summit the European Union and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on partnership in the field of raw materials, batteries and renewable hydrogen. This was reported by the press office of the European Commission.

According to the European Commission:

·         Chairperson of the EC Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Ismailov signed a memorandum of understanding establishing a partnership between the European Union and Kazakhstan;

·         the agreement aims to ensure the development of reliable and sustainable supplies of raw and recycled materials;

·         it also seeks to develop value chains of renewable hydrogen and batteries to accelerate green and digital transformation of the two parties’ economy;

·         the agreement envisages the increase in the sustainability of supply chains of raw materials, batteries and renewable hydrogen, as well as closer bilateral cooperation in building capacity, developing skills, researches and innovations in these issues.
