Osh Strengthens Cooperation with UNDP

On January 26, Zamir Yusupov, Deputy Mayor of Osh, met with Alexandra Solovieva, UNDP Resident Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, they noted the contribution made by UNDP to the implementation of various programs in the field of sustainable development, support for peaceful initiatives and improving people’s lives. The parties discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations within the framework of joint projects for the benefit of citizens. It was suggested to consider the possibility to assist in constructing a youth co-working center, implementing initiatives on landscaping the city, building new fire stations.

А. Solovieva emphasized the strategic importance of the city and suggested, as part of the interaction on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to pay special attention to the impact of climate on urban life, as well as innovative formats of collaboration, including in the issues of cooperation with donors.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
