NOVOSIBIRSK AND MINSK SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF FURTHER COOPERATION

On September 10, during the working visit to the capital of Belarus – the sister city of Minsk- Mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot and Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev signed a memorandum of further development of sister relations.

“For many years we have been preserving traditions and continuing cooperation between Novosibirsk and Minsk. Today, for the purpose of further development of sister relations, a memorandum has been signed. It will contribute to the implementation of joint projects in cultural, transport, industrial and scientific spheres”, Mayor Anatoly Lokot stressed. – Of particular importance is the joint activity aimed at patriotic upbringing of children. There are Posts No.1 located in Novosibirsk and Minsk, children regularly hold gatherings. This year, schoolchildren have traveled to Belarus: visited the Brest Fortress and a number of memorial complexes. This has made a tremendous impression on children”.

This year, the capital of Belarus, the city of Minsk has celebrated its 955^th anniversary. The visit of Mayor of Novosibirsk was connected with this event as well. In June 2022, the sister relations of Novosibirsk and Minsk celebrated their 10^th jubilee.

According to Mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot, mutual respect and warm emotional relationship are the key to success of joint projects and friendship in the future, and the memorandum signed has become proof of that.
