On August 11, in Tomsk, the first smart sports ground started working. Its main difference is in its multifunctionality and digital approach. Elements of the sports ground are equipped with QR codes, Wi-Fi and stands for smartphones. The QR code can be used to get to the website with guidelines on how to use the training apparatus for beginners, ordinary and advanced users.
The sports ground has an arena with athletics tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, a football pitch with artificial turf, a workout area, bleachers and two strength training machines.
“Today, we have opened a smart sports ground. The first one, and I am sure it won’t be the last. Here you can combine virtuality and sport: a smartphone will help you get guidelines, you can even listen to music. I wish this sports ground attracted as many Tomsk citizens as possible to physical training and sports”, said Mikhail Ratner, Acting Mayor of Tomsk.
Note: a smart sports ground was built within the framework of the federal project “Business Sprint” of the national project “Demography” included in the list of 42 strategic initiatives of the Russian Government. The project aims to attract extra-budgetary investments in sports.
