Ufa Is Celebrating its 450th Anniversary

Festive events, dedicated to the 450th anniversary of the city, were held in the capital of Bashkortostan. The main day of celebrations fell on August 31.

UCLG-Eurasia was represented at the events by Ilsur Metshin, its President and Mayor of Kazan, and Rasikh Sagitov, Secretary General of the organization. The leaders of UCLG-Eurasia also participated in the ceremony of laying a time capsule for the future generation. Now, the capsule is planned to be opened only in 2074.

A day earlier, on August 30, the General Meeting of Members of the Association of Volga Region Cities was held. It was attended by Evgeniya Lodvigova, Vice-Mayor of Kazan, and Rasikh Sagitov.

The anniversary celebration turned out to be bright and large-scale. It should be noted that a rich cultural program was prepared for residents and guests of Ufa, which included the opening of the palace of struggle, the official celebration of the 450th anniversary of the founding of the city and the screening of the theatrical performance “River of Time”, the ethnogastronomical festival “Vinograd”, the VIII International Art Festival “Heart of Eurasia” and much more.
