Мэр Иркутска встретился с делегацией Улан-Батора

An official meeting between Ruslan Bolotov, Mayor of Irkutsk, and a delegation from Ulaanbaatar was held at the Irkutsk City Administration. Participants included Alexey Kotelnikov, Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Irkutsk; Batsukh Ichinkhorloo, Consul General of Mongolia in Irkutsk; Alexander Druzenko, Deputy Chairman of the Irkutsk City Council; Nina Perfilieva, Acting Deputy Mayor – Chairperson of the Committee on Social Policy and Culture; and Olga Martikhaeva, Acting Deputy Mayor – Chairperson of the Committee on Economics and Strategic Planning.

The Mongolian delegation included Ikhbayar Dashnyam, Chairman of the Khural of People’s Representatives of the Capital City; and Amgalanbayar Amartuvshin, Deputy Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar.

A Mongolian consulate opened in the regional capital in 1971. In 1998, an Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation was signed between Irkutsk and Ulaanbaatar. Since then, the municipalities have actively collaborated in education, science, culture, economics, trade, sports, tourism, and patriotic education of youth.

I am convinced that the relationship between Irkutsk and Ulaanbaatar will remain as strong and warm as it had been before. Our countries share a common past, which we are obligated to preserve. Together, we preserve the memory of the events of World War II and the fight against fascism for the sake of peace. Thank you for coming to Irkutsk for the Victory Day celebrations and for not forgetting your veterans. All Irkutsk residents know how powerful the support of the fraternal people of Mongolia was during the war; you did everything possible to bring Victory closer,” noted Ruslan Bolotov.

Ruslan Bolotov shared his experience implementing a mechanism for relocation from dilapidated, hazardous housing and described the construction of a thermal beam, which allowed for the closure of outdated coal-fired boiler houses.

Amgalanbayar Amartuvshin expressed interest in collaborating in the energy, education, and agriculture sectors. He reported that last year they managed to convert 5 000 households from coal to gas. A similar number and approximately 200 more small businesses are planned for 2026.
